Most investment advisors prefer individual clients over company 401(k) plans.  Plans are more work with lower margins.  As a result, they tend to be less-cared-for.  Too often advisors neglect the needs of plan sponsors and participants. Consider the following matrix and ask yourself what kind of retirement plan investment advisor you have.  Are they adding more in value to the plan than they take in compensation?  Are they making life easy for you?  If they aren’t they should be.  We would be.
